5 Year Old Birthday Party
I'M HAVING BOTH OF MY DAUGHTER'S BIRTHDAY PARTIES
TOGETHER THIS YEAR OUTSIDE IN MY YARD. MY 4 YEAR OLD WANTS A CARNIVAL THEME AND MY 6 YEAR OLD WANTS A GIRLY THEME, HER FIRST IDEA WAS A TEA PARTY OR SOMETHING GIRLY.
HOW CAN I INCORPORATE BOTH PARTIES. AND DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS WHAT I CAN DO FOR MY 6 YEAR OLD TO MAKE IT GIRLY.
THANK YOU

Hi Sabrina,
Oh this will be easy and so fun! Do the Carnival theme, but use girly colors like pink and purple. (Or use your 6 year old's favorite colors). Pink and white striped awnings for your booths, pink cotton candy, pink and purple plates and party supplies, feather boas, flowers, ect. And the umbrellas that tightrope girls use. (Make them pretty with lace and sparkles.)
Have a family member dress up as a girly clown. Sparkle makeup, pink hair, and a flouncy tulle skirt. She can paint the girls faces (really popular with this age group) and make pink and purple balloon animals. It's not really that hard to do with a kit.
All the little girls can come dressed as trapeze artist in sparkly outfits. Supply them with a colorful tulle tu-tu and sparkle headbands that have a huge feather and flower on them.
Play carnival games but put a girly twist on them. Make everything pink and sparkly. For example, for bottle toss, instead of using plain rings to ring the bottles, use tiaras.
You don't have to have a full blown tea party, but when you serve the cake, you can bring out a tea pot and tea cups. The girls will love that. If you can find a circus tea set, it would be perfect.
Pink cupcakes with an pink umbrella stuck in them would bring the girly and the carnival together. Or for something a little silly, you could do a carnival animal like an elephant or a lion and place a huge pink flower on it's ear and pearls around it's neck to make it a "girl".
Birthday party favors could be pink and white striped small gift bags filled with fun toys and girly stuff. Jacks, yo-yo, whistle, lip gloss, stickers, magic tricks, hair accessories, ect.
I hope your party is a huge success! Don't worry about being too exact. Kids are pretty forgiving and I just know they will have a blast.
