Brandon's Balloon Birthday Party
Why did we choose the balloon birthday party theme? Brandon was turning 17 and we had no clue as to what party theme to do. We had done an awesome guitar theme the year before, so we didn't want to do that. Although Brandon probably would have loved it because he is CRAZY about his guitar.
We really didn't have the money to do much, but I always like to make birthdays special. So to the Dollar Store we went. There's not a whole of themes to choose from for a 17 year old boy, so we decided on the balloon theme. This year we would just keep it simple. We found some really cute Balloon Party Supplies. So we loaded up on balloon plates, balloon napkins, balloon cups, balloon balloon (ha ha),
and a few other things to make it feel festive.

For the centerpiece we used a balloon. How clever of us! We bought another little thing that sprayed up and placed the balloon in the middle. We hung all colored ribbon from the chandelier in a free form kind of way. Nothing too fancy. I have a way of wanting to fancy everything up. Brandon's lucky that I didn't put roses everywhere.

For the food and drinks we had all kinds of fruit, fruit dip, chips, lemonade, iced tea, ice cream cones, and Funfetti cupcakes. My crew really loves them. So I make them every now and then. The ice cream cones were a big hit. The family really loved them. This was a family party. On Brandon's
16th birthday we had a big blow-out, so this year we just kept it to family.

The highlight of any birthday party is the blowing out of the candles. It's a birthday tradition that dates back many years. I wonder what Brandon's wish was....probably a new guitar!
