Beach Party Ideas
Hey dude! Are you ready for a Beach Party blowout? This theme can be used for a birthday, an anniversary, a retirement party, a bridal shower, or just a fun get together for friends.
You could also do this theme for an office party. It's very popular, so you can find alot of decorations for it.
The Dollar Tree is a great place to shop. There are some really great online party supplies as well.
This party is all about fun in the sun(real or fake). So put on your crazy beach gear and let's get to surfing!
Invitations
You can purchase bottles that can be mailed. Place sand, seashells, and a note with your party info on it, in the bottle. Send out to all your friends or co-workers.
You could also send small sand buckets with all the fun sand toys. Tie a tag on the handle with the party info. You will have to put this in a box, so it's a little more involved.
Another fun idea is to cut out a sun from yellow scrapbook paper. Glue onto the front of a white card. Write your info inside.
Send out deflated beach balls with the party info on them. They will need to fill them with air to read the message.
There are some great invitations with beach themes to choose from. Just fill in your info. Place beach themed stickers on the outside.
Party Costumes
- shorts
- flowered shirts
- grass skirts
- coconut bikini tops
- sun dresses

- flip flops
Entrance Decor
If you plan far enough in advance, you can get all the beach party stuff you need for pretty cheap. Catch it at the end of summer.
Place balloons on your mailbox to alert guests. Set a beach umbrella by the front door. Place a lawn chair under it. Hang lanterns underneath the umbrella. Or you could string beach themed lights from it as well.
Set a table beside the chair with a glass of lemonade, a radio, some sunglasses, and a book. Lay a beach towel over the chairs back. Have beach music playing.
Prop up surf boards beside the front door. Place sand bucket and palm tress here and there. You can rent palm trees, purchase them, or use blow up palm trees.
Instead of music, you could also have a soundtrack of waves crashing.
Decorations
You can have a beach party in the back yard, or inside. It's fun either way. If it's in January, you might want to have it in side where it's warm. Snow and sand, not a good mix. Unless you live in Florida, but then you can just have your party on the real beach...Anyway...
Your colors are going to be tropical. Aqua, yellow, melon, and green. Group balloons into 3's or 5's. Place them around the room. You can make a great balloon weight with some sand and a balloon. Just fill a balloon with about a 1/4 cup sand, and tie.
Place palm trees and tropical plants around the party area. Hang a sun(find at party store)from the ceiling. Place sand buckets here and there. Blow up a lot of beach balls. Just let them roam around the room or yard.
Place sand and seashells in glass jars. Set candles in the sand. Place on tables. Cover tables in colorful tablecloth. Any beach theme will do. You could also use a solid color in the color choices above.
Set plants on the tables. Scatter seashells around randomly. Place sunglasses, suntanning oil, crabs, tropical flowers, and anything else that ties to a beach theme on tables.
If you have the space, set up beach umbrellas around the party area. Hang lanterns from underneath them.
Here are a few really cute ideas for beach party supplies.
Activities and Games
Karaoke is fun for this beach party theme. Set up an area with a stage and a mike and have a selection of beach themed songs.
Limbo is a great game for this theme as well. You don't have to play games at Adult Parties, but it's fun.
Set up a photo area. Have beach attire for the guests to borrow.
Food and Drinks
CakePurchase small sand buckets. Bake vanilla cupcakes. Take out of paper and place in bucket. Cover with vanilla pudding and top with crushed vanilla cookies. You can purchase all of this at health food stores.
The cookies look like sand. Put a small shovel in the "sand". So CUTE!
You could also do sunshine cupcakes. Just shape yellow fondant into a circle. Flatten and lay on top of cupcake. Cut out triangles and place them around the "sun".
You can make them smiley faces with black icing.
Another really cute idea is a flip flop cake. Cut a flip flop shape out of a pound cake. Cover with whipped cream or icing. Make flip flop straps with red
licorice. Secure with toothpicks.
Here's another easy idea for a fabulous Palm Tree cake.

Party favors are not a must at adult parties, but it's fun. You could print out the pictures you took earlier and put in beachy frames. Put in a pretty little gift bag with curly ribbon and a tag that says thank you for coming.
You could also do a silly gift like big goofy sunglasses. The candles in the jars is a nice gift as well.
