Totally Awesome Dinosaur Party Ideas

dinosaur party ideas Be the most famous parent on the block with these awesome Dinosaur Party ideas.

You can do the Dinosaur Party two ways. Living with the Dinosaurs, or Digging for Dinos. Or you can just mix the two. Kids are not perfectionists.

If you do the first party, you'll want more things to do with cavemen and live dinos. If you do the second party, you'll want to go more with pith hats and digging for fossils.

Dinosaur Party Ideas for Invitations

Send out plastic dinosaurs with a tag attached that has all the party information on it.

Cut a dinosaur shape out of scrapbook paper. Glue on eyes and add fine detail with a marker. Glue onto a piece of card stock. Fold in half. Write party information inside.

This is so cool if you have the time to do it. Papier mache a balloon. Let it dry and paint to look like a dinosaur egg. Cut around the middle in jagged edges. Leave a little in the back to form a "hinge". Place easter grass inside, and set a toy baby dinosaur setting on it. Write the party information on the egg, or on a small card inside the egg. So cute! You'll have to hand these out personally.

You can also do these for decorations. Get the kids involved for some family fun.

Dinosaur Party Costumes

Let the kids be cavemen. The costumes are so easy for this idea. Cut a hole in the middle of a piece of fabric. Slip over the guests head and tie with another thin piece of fabric. No sewing involved.

Purchase dinosaur masks and pin a tail on the guests pants.

Or you can dress in pith helmets, binoculars, and shorts if you're searching for dinosaur fossils.

Place a Dinosaurs Personalized Banner over the door or above the party table.

Hot glue a stake to the back and stick in the ground.

Use green or brown tablecloths. You can also use the tablecloths that come with the party kits. Make fake trees. Tape brown construction paper around a round bottle. Place fake leaves coming out of it. Really easy and effective. Purchase toy dinosaurs and place around the trees. Scatter rocks and moss along the table.

Use your dinosaur cake and dinosaur supplies as part of the decorations. It adds instant color.

Balloons are a must at any birthday party. Purchase a T-Rex Balloon or two and add latex balloons around them.

You can create a forest like effect with fake trees. Inflatable Palm Trees are fun to use. You can also use real plants. Purchase or borrow them and set them everywhere. Paint large dinosaurs(find inspiration from coloring books) and set here and there.

These are great for photo opportunities.

Purchase brown craft paper on a roll. You'll want it pretty wide. Tape all the way around the party room. Draw or paint volcanos, trees, bushes, plants, and rocks at the bottom. Set all your trees and plants in front of it for a 3-D effect.

You can use an overhead projector to draw out the trees and things and then you just fill in with paint. It's really not that hard and it makes a huge impact.

Crush the corners of appliance boxes. Cover with crumbled brown paper to resemble a cave. Place a fake fire in the middle and draw caveman drawings inside. You could have this as a craft project as well.

Suspend Pterodactyls from the ceiling. I know they're not dinosaurs, but unless you have exacting scientist, you'll be okay.

You can also do this party outside. Just set up against a fence or the side of the house.

If you want this to be a learning experience as well as fun, you can tag all the dinosaurs with their names and their length and weight.
