Diva Party Bags

Question...

I want to find a unique way to make Diva party bags for my daughter who's turning 7.

Answer...

Diva birthday parties are all about glitz and glamour. Over the top designs are necessary to the Diva party theme.

I love the fact that you are wanting to make your own favors. It shows that you are creative and want to make this birthday extra special.

I have a few ideas for you on making your own party bags for your daughter's party.

Small gift bags are such a great choice for favors. You start with a plain bag and use glitter, glue, beads, and feathers to create a truly unique Diva favor. There are also hard boxes that are shaped just like a gift bag. I like to use them for my party favors because you can paint them to match any theme. You'll find them in any hobby store.

Start by painting the boxes to match your color scheme. Let the boxes dry. Find pictures of purses and shoes in magazines or books. Cut the pictures out and glue onto your box. Embellish the purses with faux jewels from the craft store.

Hot glue a feather boa along the top of the box. Add ribbon or lace to the favor box if you desire. You can also put the names of the girls on the boxes. I like to use letter stickers. They are pretty cheap and look so fancy.

Another idea for a Diva party bag is to purchase little purses (or sew them) and embellish with beads, feathers, and jewels. Iron on letters are great for adding names to the purses.

Pretty little drawstring bags are an easy way to make Diva favors as well. Cut out two squares of fabric. Place the fabric together with the front of the fabric facing each other. Sew three sides of the square.

The open side of the bag is the top. Turn the top down 1/2 inch and another 1/2 inch to make a casing. Iron it flat and then sew around the bag. Turn the bag right side out. At the top where the casing is, cut a little slit in the seam on each side. Be careful not to cut the fabric.

Run a piece of ribbon through one side of the casing to the other. Now do another piece of ribbon going the other way. Tie each piece of ribbon in a knot on the end. Pull the ribbons to draw your bag together. Embellish the bag in any manner you desire.

Fill your Diva bags with nail polish, lip gloss, jewelry, microphone keychains, makeup, stickers, Ring Pops, ect.

I hope your party is a huge success!
