This party theme is a great idea for a 1st birthday or a Toddler birthday. If your child is into Elmo and all his friends, then this is the perfect birthday party theme.

Elmo Birthday Party Ideas For Invitations

You can purchase your Elmo invitations or make your own. Use a picture of your child in any paint program to create the perfect Elmo invite.

Or make Elmo invitations out of red cardstock paper. Cut out a circle. Use a small plate for your guide. Glue on white circles for the eyes. Add wiggly eyes to the middle of the white circles. Glue an orange pom-pom in the middle for the nose. Cut out a mouth from black paper and glue on.

Write all your party info on the back of Elmo's face.

Elmo Birthday Party Ideas For Costumes

Ask the guests to come dressed in red. The color of Elmo. You could also supply orange foam noses for everyone. Dress your little one in an Elmo outfit or an Elmo costume.

As the guests come into the party area, have Sesame Street CD: Platinum All-Time Favorites playing softly in the background. It will set the mood for this fun theme.

If your child wants an Elmo party, then I'm sure he or she has plenty of Elmo's to decorate with. This party theme calls for fun and lively colors. Match your party supplies that you choose.

For fun centerpieces, use clear fish bowls. Add pretty rocks in them and a Dorothy goldfish. Scatter ABC's on the table around the fish bowls. Fridge magnets are fun, but you can also use paper ABC's. Have plenty cups of crayons and coloring sheets for the little ones to color.

Use large poster boards and draw Elmo and his friends. Use coloring books for inspiration. Balloons are a great idea for this party theme. Use colorful balloons in bunches and tie to Elmos for a fun effect.

Sesame Street books, posters, and stuffed characters are an easy way to decorate for this party.

Pinatas are a great party staple. You use them as part of the decorations and then they become a fun game.

Coloring books are the perfect activity for this toddler birthday party.

Pin The Nose On Elmo

Draw a large Elmo on a poster board. Cut out orange circles and put tape on the back of them. Let the kids place the nose on Elmo. If the children are really young, you don't need to blind fold them. It will just scare them.

Dorothy Toss

Purchase plastic fish bowls. Make or purchase goldfish beanbags. Place the fish bowls in a line. The players must toss "Dorothy" into her bowl. You can make it more difficult if the children are older.

Elmo Birthday Party Ideas For Cake

Make your own Elmo cake with an Elmo cake pan. Or bake a cake and add plastic Sesame Street characters on top.

Make or purchase cupcakes and add Elmo Rings or Sesame Street Molded Candles on the top of each one. Place in a wire cupcake holder.

Elmo Birthday Party Ideas For Food and Drinks

Serve Elmo's favorite food. Pizza! Some other ideas for an Elmo Party are...

  • Elmo shaped cookies
  • Red candies
  • Red Jello Jigglers
  • Goldfish crackers (serve in small fish bowls)
  • Elmo ice cream (see below for recipe)
  • Elmo punch (see below for recipe)

To make fun Elmo ice cream treats you'll need strawberry ice cream, white round candies, black icing, orange gumdrops, and black licorice strings.

Place one large scoop of strawberry ice cream into a pretty party bowl. Set two white candies into the ice cream for the eyes. Add black circles to the candies with the black icing to finish off the eyes. Place the orange gumdrop in the middle for the nose. And then put a piece of licorice string where the mouth would go. Make these up ahead of time and place in the freezer.

Elmo punch is bright red, just like Elmo! You'll need 4 cups apple juice, 1 can fruit punch, 1 can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed, 1 can frozen pink lemonade concentrate, thawed, 18 fluid ounces water, 1 tablespoon red food coloring. Mix together and serve in a large fish bowl.

Elmo Birthday Party Ideas For Favors

Elmo Party Favor Box

Purchase red buckets and use craft foam to create an Elmo face on the front of the bucket. An orange pom-pom is the perfect choice for Elmo's nose. Fill with fun toys that are geared for the ages of the children invited.

Another great favor idea is to give live goldfish away to the kids. But only if the parents allow it. Be sure and supply the bowl and food so the parents aren't making a mad rush to the store.
