Girls Party Games

Girls party games should not be complicated. I love simple. I have a list of fun girls birthday party games that are sure to please any girl.

Girls party a little different than boys. They are more relaxed and can sit down for a quite craft or two.

They are not into competition as much as boys, and most girls don't like to get wet and dirty. I know there are exceptions to the rule, I raised one. But as a whole, girls are not into the rough and tumble kind of games like boys are.

Girls Party games should go along with your birthday party theme. It's easy to tweak simple traditional games to match whatever fun theme you have decided to go with.

Fancy Dress Up

This is fun for any girl party theme, but it goes well with the Diva, Princess, or Fancy Nancy theme. Gather together all kinds of fancy clothes (check out your local thrift store), shoes, hats, gloves, scarves, jewelry, boas, ect. Hang the dresses on racks and place all the other stuff in a trunk. Let each girl go behind a screen or go into a room and pick out a whole out fit. Take pictures of each girl and give prizes to each one. Most creative, the funniest, the prettiest, ect. Make sure everyone gets a prize. You can put the pictures in a frame and give them as favors at the end of the party.

Treasure Hunt

Hide things around the room or outside for the girls to hunt. Go along with your party theme. And be sure and give them something to hold their treasures in. This game is always a favorite with girls and boys. For older girls you can hide craft supplies. Split the girls into teams and let them hunt. They then must make something with the craft supplies that their team found. This game can be twisted and turned into so many things with just a little imagination.

Pass The Tea Pot

What a perfect party game for a Tea Party. Of course you can change the tea pot to be anything that matches your girl party theme. Set the girls in a circle. Give the tea pot to one girl and start some lively party music. She must pass the tea pot to the next girl and so on. When the music stops, the girl holding the tea pot receives a small favor and is out of the game. Play continues until there is a winner.

Pin The Tiara On The Princess

You'll need a poster or large picture of a princess and foam tiaras that have sticky tack on the back. You play this game just like Pin the Tail on the Donkey. The birthday girl goes first. Blind fold her and twirl her around. Give her the foam tiara and point her toward the princess poster. She must stick the tiara where she thinks it needs to go. The girl who is the closest, wins. You can spin this game to match any birthday party theme. Pin the Tiara on Fancy Nancy...Wings on Fairy...Lips on Frog Prince...Strawberry on Strawberry Shortcake's basket...Purse on Diva's Arm...ect.

Telephone

What do girls love to do? Talk! So this is a fun game for any girl party. Set the girls in a circle. The birthday girl whispers something to the girl next to her. That girl whispers to the next girl the same thing. It goes all the way around the circle until it reaches the last girl. She must say out loud what she heard the girl say to her. It's never the same as when it started, so the girls will really get a kick out of it. Guaranteed giggles all around.

Boa Limbo

Have two girls hold the ends of the boa. Start some lively limbo music and have the girls walk under the boa bending backwards. After all the girls have gone through one time, lower the boa and they must go again. If a girl touches the boa, she is out. Keep playing until you only have one player left. She is the winner.

Musical Toadstools

Or whatever matches your girl party. This game is great for the Fairy Party theme. Cut out toadstools from construction paper or craft foam. Place them in a circle or on chairs. Place a girl on each toadstool. Play music. As the girls are hopping from toadstool to toadstool, take one away. Stop the music and the girl who can't find a toadstool to stand on is out. Keep playing until you only have one girl left.

Freeze Tag

When a girl gets tagged, she must remain frozen until another girl tags her. This thaws her out. If the girl that is "it" freezes every girl, then she can pick a new "it". You can use fairy wands for Fairy Freeze Tag, or anything else that matches your party theme.

Tiara Toss

You'll need to fill 2 liter soda bottles with a little water or sand. This weights them down a bit. You can decorate the bottles with paper and stickers to make them match your party theme. The girls must stand back and try to ring the bottle with the tiara. You can give the girls prizes for the player who rings the most bottles.

Create A Masterpiece

Set up an easel and a large white paint canvas. Place it to where the girls can't see the front. Let the girls draw a number out of a basket. The birthday girl will go last, so she doesn't draw a number. Number one must go to the canvas and she has 20 seconds to paint to her heart's desire. She must return to her seat and number two goes up to the canvas. She must paint for 20 seconds and it goes on until the birthday girl gets her chance. When she is finished with her paint time, she shows everyone the painting. You can also use markers. It is a fun game that everyone can do. The birthday girl now has a great memory from her party to hang in her room.

Little Chefs

Set up a baking area in the kitchen. If the girls are younger, you can have the cookie mix already made up. If they are older they might enjoy making them from scratch. You could also bake cupcakes and let the girls decorate them. Supply frosting, sprinkles, candies, ect. Another idea is to let the girls create a mini pizza for themselves. Make a large batch of pizza dough and give each girl a small ball to work with.

Makeover

Gather together nail polish, makeup, hair supplies, ect. Ask some teenagers to help out with this activity. Set up stations for the girls to go to. A hair station, a nail station, and a makeup station. The girls can rotate between the stations for a full makeover.
