Hollywood Party Ideas
The Hollywood Party theme is all about glamour and glitz. You'll want this party to be very elegant and tasteful. Roll out the red carpet and let's party.
Invitations
Purchase very elegant invitations. Put star confetti in the card. If you know someone who can do calligraphy, have them address your envelopes. Seal with a star sticker.
Party Costumes
Have everyone come in fancy dress. Supply some dresses and jackets for the ones who come unprepared.
Have a hat box with boas, sunglasses, bow ties, and other fancy dress up items. You could also supply some bling if you want. Necklaces, bracelets, tiaras, earrings, ect.
Entrance Decor
Roll out the red carpet. Make an arch for the guests to walk under. You can make it out of balloons, or use a garden arch. If you're using balloons, tie balloons onto a string. they will float up to create an arch.
If you use a garden arch, cover with twinkle lights and flower garlands. You can rent them at a wedding rental place.
Decorations
Like I said before, the Hollywood Party theme is all about glamour. Your colors will be black, silver, and red. Feel free to vary from this though. As long as you keep it elegant, you'll be fine.
Candles are a great way to add that special something to a Hollywood Party. You'll want alot of them.
For your tables, I would use crisp white tablecloths. Place red roses in a crystal vase. Set in the middle of the table. Have candles in different size candle holders. Scatter silver star confetti.
Set a toy black microphone beside the roses. You can also scatter fake jewels and pearls as well. Add a top hat here and there.
Take a glamour shot of your child and put in jeweled frame. Have it sitting on table.
Hang crystals from the chandelier. Wind pearls and red rose garlands down and around.
Set up a big TV and have old Hollywood movies playing softly in the background.
Borrow or purchase white pillars. The ones you see at weddings. Place them around the room with greenery wound around them.
You can do balloons if you want. Put a long curly ribbon on helium balloons, and let them float on the ceiling.
For your plates, go for the real thing. White china would work nicely.
If you're not into all that clean up work, there's some really nice paper products that would work.
Have a stage set up with velvet curtains in one corner.
Games and Activities
Movie CharadesPlace the names of movies in a top hat. Let them draw one. They then act it out.
Star Singing Contest
Set up microphones and let them sing away. Give Award Statues for the best, worst, funniest, ect.
Movie Star Limbo
I know this is weird for a dress up party, but it's hilarious because they are dressed up. Play old show tunes and use a boa for your limbo bar.
Who am I?
When the guests arrive, tape a piece of paper that has the name of a movie star on it, on their backs. They ask questions of the other guests to try and figure out who they are. The guests can only answer yes or no.
Movie Time
Just hang out and watch old movies. You can have the sound down and make your own dialogue. You can also have everyone get in their comfy clothes and play the latest release. Serve popcorn and relax.
Food and Drinks
CakeOnce again, elegance is in order for a Hollywood Party. Do a 2 or 3 tiered white cake with real red roses cascading down and around.
Or serve white cupcakes with a single rose on each one. Serve on white paper doilies, on a tiered plate.

- Chocolate covered strawberries
- Cream cheese and salsa dip with crackers(place a block of cream cheese on a plate, pour raspberry salsa over it) Serve with crackers
- Deviled ham sandwiches cut into stars
- Fruit kabobs
- Veggie tray
- Fish roe(cheaper than caviar)and crackers
Drinks
Serve drinks in champagne glasses. You can buy them at the Dollar Store.
- Pink lemonade(make fresh lemonade and put in blender with a few strawberries)
- Sparkling white grape juice
Favors
Take pictures of guests as they arrive under the arch. While the party is going, print them out and place in jeweled frame. Give as favors to guests as they leave. Put the frame in a silver gift bag. Tie red, black, and silver ribbon on the handle. Finish with silver tissue paper.
Don't forget to include a fancy thank you note. Embellish with pretty stickers.
