John Deere Centerpieces

by Eva

Question...

I have little wooden tractors that I got at a Dollar Tree and painted them like the green tractors. It also has a little a window to put a picture in it, but I don't know how to decorate them for the tables.

How should I do it? I would like to use green and yellow tissue paper and hay. But don't know how to do the John Deere centerpieces. Please, I need some ideas. The party is in about a week.

Thank you.

Answer...

Hi Eva,

John Deere parties are so much fun. It sounds like you have a really great start, but sometimes it's hard to put it all together.

This is how I would do a John Deere Centerpiece...

Make a balloon bouquet with green and yellow balloons and green and yellow ribbon. Make sure you use an odd number of balloons. You'll want them to be different heights as well. Tie your balloons onto a balloon weight (you can find them at the Dollar store). Set the balloon weight down into a brown gift bag. Fill the gift bag with pretty green or yellow tissue.

Lay hay in the middle of the table. Spread it out a bit. Set your balloon bouquet in the middle of the hay. Place your little wooden tractors in and around the hay. Use anything else that you have that is John Deere to place around in the hay. Frames with a picture of the birthday child are a really great personal touch.

Even if it's a boy's party, don't be afraid to use flowers. Sunflowers are a great choice for a John Deere party. Pop them off the stems and lay them around the gift bag, or place them coming out of the gift bag. Or use galvanized buckets with large bouquets of sunflowers in them as your main centerpiece instead of the balloons.

Sunflower garland is great for over doors, on the backs of chairs, winding down the chandelier, or on tables.

When trying to decorate for a party, just remember that you are trying to recreate a "feel". Just try to think about what you would use on a farm. And go for it!

You should check out my John Deere party page for more ideas as well.

Good luck on your party. And send us photos to put up on the site. We would love to see how it all turns out.
