Jungle Party Ideas For Costumes
Make or purchase animal masks for everyone to wear. Or if you want to go more with the Safari theme, supply pith hats and binoculars.
Jungle Party Ideas For Decorations and Centerpieces
Decorate the outside with balloons. Tie onto the mailbox to alert guests as to where the party is. Use chalk and make animal prints on the side walk. Make signs out of thick poster board or card board and place along the sidewalk.
Your colors for this kid party should match the party supplies that you use. There are several jungle party packs that are simply adorable. Most of them use orange, green, brown, and yellow.
Create a really jungle feel. Beg, borrow, and plead with friends and family for large trees and plants to fill the kid party area. You can make green vines with green streamers. Just twist the green streamers together tightly.
You can also purchase vines or get them from outside. Hang the vines everywhere. Ivy garland is great for hanging as well. Swag it from corner to corner in the room. Drape over everything as well. You can also hang from the chandelier.
You'll also want to have huge splashes of color. Use flowers to add the spark of color. Tropical flowers and plants.
Tiki lights can add a soft glow to your kid party if the kids are old enough. Place them in buckets of sand if the shower is inside.
Tulle is a great medium to use in any decorating. It's so cheap. You can get it for about $1.00 a yard. Twist and drape green tulle all over the party area for some extra added drama. You can put twinkle lights in it and it will give you a soft glow. So cool!
Centerpieces are a very important part of any party and kid parties are no exception, but they don't have to cost a fortune.
Balloons are always a great and cheap kid party centerpiece. Use Jungle Animal Print Safari Balloons and tie to a weight. Place the weight in a jungle gift bag or tie to a plant, stuffed animal, or bananas.
Another idea is to place green glass rocks in a tall clear vase. Stick 3 palm prawns in the rocks. Set a cute little stuffed lion, tiger, or monkey beside the vase.
Have jungle sounds playing in the party area. This adds to the feel of the jungle theme. Hang monkeys from the vines. Set stuffed animals in the plants and on the floor.
Fountains are great because they give you the running water sound. Set them on table tops or on the floor.

For the cake, you can make an animal cake or cupcakes. Here are some cute Monkey Cupcakes that are really easy to make.
Just do the head of the animal to make it easier. Here's a super simple "cat" cake recipe...
You'll need 2 round cakes and 2 cupcakes. You can use any flavor cake that you want. Carrot cake is one of my favorites.
Bake cakes and cool. Place one layer on a serving plate. Frost the top and add the other layer (the frosting color is determined by which cat you choose). Frost top and sides.
Cut 3/8 inch from 3 sides of the cupcakes to make triangles to resemble ears. Position "ears" and cover with frosting.
Create the "fur" with a fork. Finish the eyes, nose and, mouth with candy and icing. Just look at a child's book or coloring page for inspiration.
