Mardi Gras 16th Birthday Party Centerpiece

by Kathee Katainen

Question...

Have you ever seen tall, plastic, cylinder tubes w/bases?

I have been searching the web for tall, plastic, cylinder tubes w/bases for a Mardi Gras 16th birthday centerpiece. Here is what I saw. The tubes must have been a good three feet tall but they also had a base insert into the tube so they could stand on a table. The particular set up I saw was a balloon coming out of the top w/the streamer running through the tube. My friend and I are going to do a Mardi Gras 16th birthday party and the place where we are holding the venue has very tall ceilings. I was thinking about putting this type of decoration on the tables with three balloons coming from each tube with coordinating streamers. As you can see I would like to use plastic as I'd be taking a huge risk with glass (remember these are 16 year old kids).

Thank you for your time.

Answer...

Hi Kathee,

Wow, you're right. I've searched everywhere and I can't find them either. You might have to end up using glass. Do you think that the kids would bother them? They would be in the middle of the table. It would have to be a pretty wild Mardi Gras party for them to actually break the vases.

I'm still not quite sure what you are describing, but it sounds really cool. Does it have to be clear? Maybe you could make your own with PVC pipe. Of course you would have to spray paint it.

Or you might have to completely revamp your Mardi Gras centerpiece to something you can find.

Where did you see this done? Could you ask the decorator where they got the vases?

You could also try searching Google and then click on the images. That always helps me. then you can actually see what you are looking for.

Another idea is to contact a wholesale vase supplier and ask them about the vase you are searching for. Just type in "wholesale vases" in your search.

Sorry I couldn't be more help. I'll keep my eyes open though.

Good luck on the Mardi Gra 16th Birthday Party. It sounds like it is going to be fabulous. I would love to see pictures of it when it is over.
