Office Party Decor~

Question...

Hi,

I am on a committee to do a last minute Winterfest Party for the office. We did one bake sale and raised a little over $300. Since this is last minute and we are on a budget, we are having it in the building. The problem is that the nicer part of the cafeteria where we were planning to have it is suddenly being used as storage for these terribly ugly metal bookshelves. The department says they are sorry, but they have to store them there for now. I am thinking of putting white sheets over them to "hide" them during the party but am open to any other suggestions. Thanks and love your site!

Answer...

Hi Olivia,

First of all I'm sorry about the delay in the answer. We have had a family crisis and computer repairs the last few weeks. I hope I get this to you in time:)

If you can't move them, about the only thing you can do is cover them. White sheets would work great since this is a Winter party. Could they be moved just enough to show the back? Then you could use white paper to cover the backs. Place them around the party area as your back drop. Turn those lemons into lemonade if you will.

Another way to hide them is to set things in front of them. For a very cheap "WOW" statement, spray paint tree branches white and add twinkle lights. Place them in containers (5 gallon buckets work great) and set them all in front of the book cases. You can use sand or rocks in the buckets to hold the branches. If the containers are not very pretty, then cover with gift wrap and ribbon.

I hope these ideas help. And I'm so glad you like the site. Just contact me if you need anymore help.

Good luck on the Office Party Decor,
