I'm looking for ideas to help with the planning of a celebration dinner. It has been requested for an outdoor BBQ, but I need to make it a nice dinner and family friendly. Mainly table decoration ideas.

Hi Christina,

I would be glad to help you in any way I can. The first thing you need to do when planning any kind of event is to pick a theme. If you are not the theme kind of person, at least pick a color scheme.

Themes are fun though and really help with the decorating. Some fun themes for a BBQ would be...

These are just a few ideas on themes. The sky is the limit.

Once you have decided on a theme, then you can really go to town on the decor and the centerpieces.

Centerpieces for a BBQ should be casual and not stuffy. Go with your theme or color scheme to tie everything together.

Some of the most popular BBQ table decorating ideas use vintage or country inspired items.

Glass mason jars are a great element to use. Fill half way with sand and then add a candle. Tie a ribbon on the outside. Or place sunflowers in the jar.

Or use any vintage container like watering cans, buckets, cowboy boots and fill with flowers of your choice and place on table. Be sure and weight the container down so that it won't fall over. Sometimes outdoor parties can get a little windy.
