Party Planning Ideas
Do you need help in planning your next party? Did the last party end in disaster?
With these party planning ideas, you can never go wrong.
Pick a party theme.
Choose from the themes on this site or go on your own. Kids,
Teens , and Adult parties are right at your finger tips.
I've got ideas for Holidays as well.
Start early.
Begin your party planning about 2 months in advance. Now I know that sounds like a lot, but it gives
you time to scout out sales, get everything in order, and have time to just chill out before the big event.
Decide on guests.
Make a list of all the people you want to invite. This helps you know how much stuff to purchase. How much food
you'll need, and if you need to hire or ask for help.
Send out your invitations.
You'll want to get them out about 2 weeks before the party. This gives your guest time to
respond. If you're hand delivering, be sure and ask them if they are attending. You'll need a count of all who will be there.
Make a shopping list.
Now's the time to make that list and go shopping for the party supplies. Hopefully you got some
stuff on sale, but if not, there's alot of good party places to get good cheap supplies. Check out the dollar stores, garage sales, thrift stores, and department stores.
You can find some really neat things.
Brainstorm cake ideas.
Decide on the cake you want and gather all the supplies. If you're ordering a store bought
cake, be sure and order early.
Ask for help.
Ask neighbors, family, teenagers, or friends to help. The more adults, the better the party. Don't try to host a 12 kid party alone!
Plan for the variables.
Have more games than you need. You just never know what your guests are going to like or dislike.
Purchase or make up plenty of favor bags. Someone might bring a friend or sibling. Be prepared. And have enough food. Nothing is worse than going
to a party that is skimpy on the food and drinks.
Decorate the party area early.
Within reason. Balloons don't last very long, so do them the day of, but alot of stuff can be done early and save you a lot of headaches.
Chill out!
Don't worry about getting everything perfect. It's not worth it. Just go with the flow and enjoy.
Last but not least, don't forget the thank you notes.
It's a small thing, but very important. You can send them after the party,
or add them to your favor bag.
