Shabby Chic 1st Birthday~

Question...

How can i decorate??? with no foundation to attach to?

Hi there,
I am having a shabby chic themed 1st birthday party for my darling baby girl at the end of the month and have food, favors, a handmade bunting, lantens ect for the party itself but i am having it at our local park and have now been advised i am not allowed to use a gazebo ( shaded tent) so have no idea how i am going to put all these gorgeous decorations to good use!

how can i set my party up???
without it looking tacky??

I have 2 tressle tables, for food and what not.. and all theses gorgeous deco's.. please help!!!

much appreciated! so glad i could ask for someones advice!

Answer...

Hi Krystal,

Oh I do love Shabby Chic! It's my personal favorite. I would love to see pictures of the party when it's finished.

I see your dilemma. Can you have the party somewhere else? If not, then it will be fine.

If the lanterns are the kind that you can place on tables, then place them on the tables as part of the decor. Even round lanterns can be put on the tables in bunches of three's. Or you can take tall garden stakes that are shaped like a large hook and place them around the party area and hang the lanterns from them. Add pretty greenery and ribbon.

Since you can't hang anything above the party tables, and IF it's not windy, you'll want to have something tall on your tables to bring the eye up. Balloons are a really great choice for this. Or very tall candelabras with flowers and greenery if you're going all out. Then crumple tulle around your tall centerpieces and add all your Shabby Chic decor. If it's windy, then keep everything low to the table.

Are there trees in the park? Place your tables under the trees and hang your lanterns from the branches. You could also drape tulle or silky fabric through the branches as well.

It sounds like it's going to be fabulous, so no worries. Feel free to contact me if you need any more advice.

Good luck with the Shabby Chic 1st Birthday Party!
