Homemade Sweater Stocking Favor

This sweet little sweater stocking favor would be perfect for a Christmas party. You could also make them for ornaments for your Christmas tree.

It's really not as hard to make as it looks.

I found a vintage sweater for 50 cents and got 8 stockings out of it. The ribbing around the top of the stocking was all around the edge of my sweater. I cut that off and then cut out all my stockings.

All the seed beads and embroidery where already done. So it looks like I put more effort into it than I did.

Scout around until you find the perfect sweater for you. You could make this any color you want. If you want a more country look, then use a thicker sweater.

You can also embellish it with all kinds of ribbon and old jewelry.

Supplies Needed

• A sweater
• Thread
• Paper stocking template
• Pins
• Ribbon
• Scissors

Instructions for Sweater Stocking

1. Make a template of whatever size stocking you want out of paper.
2. Cut out your stockings from the sweater.
3. Sew right sides together all the way around except the top.
4. Turn right side out.
5. Cut your ribbing to fit around the top of the stocking (with some seam allowance).
6. With right sides together, sew the ribbing together.
7. Sew the top of the stocking to the stocking body. (wrong side of stocking to the right side of ribbing)
8. Turn right side out and fold down the top ribbing to form the cuff.
9. Sew a piece of ribbon onto the back for the holder.
