Wrapping Paper Toppers

Everybody knows how to wrap a gift in wrapping paper and stick a premade bow on top. Right?

If you're anything like me, that is simply not good enough. I need flowers! I need pearls! Ok, I'm sure you get my point.

My gifts are always the prettiest at the party. Who cares what's in the package.

They won't want to open it. Everybody hates tearing into one of my gifts, because they don't want to mess it up.

So grab your glue gun and let's get to work.

Here are just a few ideas you can use. It should get you started on the path of creativity.

Things you can use for embellishing your gift...

• Silk flowers
• Pearls
• Ribbon
• Feathers
• Trim
• Tulle(you can make your bow out of it)
• Ornaments
• Lace

First you need to pick a theme. Baby, roses, rainbows, ect. Next you need to wrap your gift. Make sure it's wrapped neatly.

Say you buy rose paper. Then you wouldn't want to put horse ribbon on it. Oh my! That really sends shivers down my back. How horrible would that be! Egads!

Use about 2 inch wired ribbon. Make a bow. It can have as many loops as you want. The bigger the box, the bigger the bow. I tell how to make one on my Gift Baskets page. Hot glue onto box.

Girly Box

Pull silk leaves and silk flowers off of their stems. Hot glue in and around the bow. Cut a piece of pearl garland about 6 inches long. Fold in half. Glue under flower petals here and there. Work in odd numbers. It's more pleasing. Like 3 roses, 5 leaves, and 3 pearl clusters.

Hot glue baby's breath here and there. Hot glue a butterfly sitting on a flower petal.

Baby Box

Use baby wrapping paper.

Hot glue baby's breath in and around the bow that you've made. You can hot glue baby toys, pacifiers, or small bottles here and there.

Manly Box

Glue greenery in and around bow. You can glue fishing lures, tiny tools, decorative keys, or anything you think they'll like, in and around the bow.
